Hooray! Washington has begun to retroactively reverse sentences and release prisoners who were too harshly punished under the three strikes law.
Yay! In Wisconsin people with drug addiction disorder get treated like people and when they graduate they get pats on the back from the judge, probation, and police officers and have a much greater success rate at getting their lives back. More like this everywhere, please! Decriminalization = humanization.
Downton Abbey is now on Netflix so we watched the first season again. Fun to watch the bickering.
Also who is washing all the linens??? Is there another set of staff in the basement?
This Salad Topper is delicious in everything. I put it in oatmeal, soup, stir fry, and quesadillas. It adds a nice crunch to everything. I'm thinking of adding it to banana bread next.
Just recently got some seeds from a nice person who was in her garden while I walked by with my dogs. They are called blue cerinthe or shrimp plants. Beautiful blue flowers and are annuals that re-seed themselves. Thank you kind stranger, and I'm looking forward to these blooming next year in our garden.
We've been talking at work about toys that help reduce stress. A toy we've been talking about is the liquid motion bubbler. Very relaxing - and no video can imitate it, but this one is pretty nice with good music.
We've also gotten into slide puzzles. Remember those? There is one space missing and you have to slide the tiles around to solve it. There are nice online versions and I even found a website that explains the best strategies to solve them. I remember knowing this strategy at some point in grade school and it's been a fun challenge to try and unlock those old skills.
Having something easy and distracting around has been a helpful way to unwind. Most puzzles and crafts have a meditative aspect. I've watched those motion bubblers when I've had trouble sleeping and it helps quiet the noise in my head so I can get to sleep faster.
