Banana tree. I didn’t know what this plant was while I was sketching it -lol. We spent a few days in Florida with Brentford's brother; the banana tree was in his yard. His place was so relaxing and beautiful. I told him just standing in the yard and hearing all the birds was like hearing a live recording of a meditation album. We took precautions (double masks and kept distance) and made it mostly a hangout-and-sketch visit at his house. We went on a beautiful nature trail walk - The Fern Forest and took lots of photos. We also visited a large outdoor nursery. Hopefully, I will remain inspired by all the beautiful plant photos I took and keep working on more sketches.

I just learned how to harvest the malic acid from my sumac tree. This is used in many foods for a citrus / sour accent flavor instead of lemon juice, for example. So far, I picked the red, seed flower (called a “drupe”) and dried them. Next I need to grind it all up and sift out the seeds from the acidy, fuzzy goodness.
I watched this quick video about a thousand times to learn how to draw a dahlia step by step. Here's my first attempt:
We bought a ginkgo tree - the leaves are so interesting, and I'm looking forward to them changing to bright yellow in the fall.
